Firebug fixed

Great to see that the latest update to Firebug has fixed the issue that I reported about it breaking when you opened Firebug in a new window (see Firebug bug at the other place).

Fantastic!  Borr has ported the Firefox 2 theme for Firefox 3.
Full power of new gecko engine with a good old Firefox 2 face.
His blog is written in both Russian and English, if you want to practice your Cyrillic character recognition skills.

Firefox Tab Effect add-on

My favourite Firefox add-on at the moment is Tab Effect.
It uses DirectX 8 to create a rotating effect when switching tabs in Firefox, and that’s it! It has no other practical use other than to look pretty. But I love it.

The quickfind feature in Firefox has been annoying me today: I wasn’t able to type apostrophes in my blog form, and it also affected cut-and-paste.
So I turned it off.

In Firefox go to about:config
Right-click and select New > Boolean
Enter searchkeys.disable.all
Set it to true

Just read on the IEBlog that Internet Explorer 8, which is currently in development, passes the Acid2 test.
At last!
Firefox 3 will too — although, the last beta of it I tried didn’t.
