A confession
I saw an advert for Pantene that told me that their shampoo gives you “colour protection”. I’m going to be honest here. I have no idea what colour protection is in shampoo. Are there some people whose hair turns monochrome … Continue reading
The Hell Centre
When I was a young child I thought that the building where you visited the doctor was called “The Hell Centre”. It wasn’t that I had a particularly negative view of the medical profession: my mum was a nursing sister … Continue reading

Gaddafi
This situation in Libya with Colonel Gaddafi is interesting; disturbing, but also interesting. One word comes to mind: ‘delusional’. Actually two words: ‘delusional’ and ‘fashion nightmare’, but I digress. There is a fascinating interview with him conducted by the BBC’s … Continue reading
Panic buying
During periods of particularly inclement weather you often hear reports of people ‘panic buying’. But they always end up buying sensible things. Like too much bread and milk. Or 200 toilet rolls. That doesn’t sound like panic to me. “Panic … Continue reading
